About Grandview Theater

Movies. Beer. Pizza. Good Times.

Simply put, the Grandview Theater & Drafthouse is coolest bar/theater in the known universe, or anywhere else! Come in for a movie, a beer, or both. Located at 1247 Grandview Ave. in the heart of Grandview Heights, we offer two movie screens, a full bar with 40 draft beers, our own in-house pizza kitchen, and all the movie concessions. Family-owned & independently operated, the Grandview Theater & Drafthouse hosts a variety of programming – blockbuster movies, indie flicks, beer tastings & other community events.

How Things Work

Our big screen auditorium was remodeled in 2016. It is spacious, hosting 150 people and is accessible to all. Want to take your food & beer into the theater? Cool with us! All seats have cup holders & there are limited tables also available.

Pizza can be ordered to take into the theater or eat in the bar area. Once you order your pizza, you’ll be given a number and an estimated wait time in which you’ll check back with your friendly bartender

You want to just hang out in the bar? That’s cool too! Our rotating draft list boasts 40 of the best brews being made, plus we’ve got vino, specialty cocktails & other soft drinks.

History

Grandview Theater has been part of your neighborhood since 1926. That’s 90+ years of history, so we’ve got loads of stories. Some are even true.

Here’s a few milestones in our journey & a few fun facts:

Opened in September 1926 with 561 seats
Closed in the early-1960s, became an antique store for a short period of time, then re-opened in the early-1980’s to screen films again.
Current owners, Andy Wuelfing, Eric Brembeck & Rita Volpi took over the Grandview Theater in 2016. Extensive renovations adding the bar area & upgrading the theater have made it the place it is today.
A second screen and pizza shop were added in 2023.

Beer Tastings

At least once a month, we host a beer tasting. These events aren't one of your run of the mill, snobby, pinkies out affairs. These are fun. Like, super fun. We recommend arriving 15-45 minutes before the event start time. This will provide ample time to collect giveaways, tasting cups and find seats. Oh, and eat something.
From there staff will pour the first beer, our resident beer guy or a brewery representative will yap about the beer for a minute, or 2. But not 3, we promise! We'll then raffle a bunch of stuff and try to make you laugh with a few videos before bringing out the next beer. We do this 10 times then show you the movie.
